Africast 2010: Final Call for Abstracts
The theme for Africast 2010, "Africa in Digital Transition: Options and Perspectives", is designed to consolidate and further drive the omnipresent question of transition from analogue to digital terrestrial broadcasting, which was introduced during the previous edition of the conference.
Some of the important issues highlighted by the reality of digitisation, which form the sub themes of Africast 2010 have been selected for crisp 20-minute presentations to set the tone for in-depth discourse by participants at the conference, all in the endeavour that the broadcasters, academics, policy makers and executors as well as business decision-makers from all over Africa who are attending the conference will get a clearer understanding of the implications of this monumental process that is drastically changing the nature of broadcasting globally.
Sub-themes:
1. Content Management in a Digital Era
2. Harnessing African Values: Imperatives of the Digital Era
3. Computer-Generated Images and the Death of Authenticity: New Perspectives in Video: Production
4. Driving the Digitisation Process: Effective Policies and Implementation
